Advice to start-ups: Protect your IP and don’t sweat the Term Sheet

In early September, we’ll begin preparations for the next Venture Capital Investment Competition, where our 2014 MBA team placed 6th in the international Finals.

Don Nelson, the BC alumnus responsible for getting us involved with VCIC, passed on this great article from a Forbes’ contributor, with this note, which I’ve adapted for the Blog: “This is an interesting perspective for the VCIC students. It speaks about maturity and communication; two qualities can help not only entrepreneurs but also the VCs. [The writer] has quite a few short other pieces as well.”

Another VCIC Mentor passed on this article from Massachusetts Lawyers Weekly on protecting your IP and trade secrets, in the wake of a Supreme Judicial Court decision.

Enjoy,

Greg
