BC Grad Students prepare for January trip to China

Both of our ICP Asia teams have now concluded their 3-hour practice sessions and are putting the finishing touches on the final project work. Each of the 2 presentations on this year’s topic, Corporate Governance, has collectively consulted more than 80 sources, including executive interviews.  Very impressive work and we leave for China on 1/3/15. This program is in its 13th year and our partner is CCAFM (for the 12th year in-a-row).

Our cross functional team of graduate students do work for this firm, as well as its clients. This year we have participants from our full-time and evening MBA, MSF, Law School and Graduate School of Social Work programs at BC.

Below our students discuss their backgrounds, a debrief on this semester and what they’re most excited about re: the upcoming trip.

How has this course contributed to your career goals?

Recently I went through three rounds of interviews at a financial services firm, meeting with a total of 15 different people. Every single person asked me about that one item on my resume and wanted to know all about it. I can’t attest to whether the offer was a direct result of ICP or not, since no one specifically told me.  It was, however, one heck of a talking point and opened up a world of conversations.  I also believe no one else going for the role had something that unique on their resume.
