BC grad students rock client meet and greet in Beijing

BC grad students rock client meet and greet in Beijing. Congratulations to our 14 BC graduate students for some outstanding work earlier today, as the first stage of two presentations. One of China’s biggest publicly traded utility companies, who’s a CCAFM client, sent their senior executives in asset management and corporate governance to review both teams’ work. The key to impressing the Chinese is noting their interest in writing down ideas or asking questions; 10 minutes into the first presentation, they were actively doing both. I’m so genuinely happy for the BC students, as it’s well deserved recognition for 6 months of hard work.  CCAFM gave everyone the night off and some of us got together for a short, celebratory dinner. One of the students was kind enough to pick up the entire meal, as his way of saying “thank you,” too. They continue refining tomorrow, in preparation for a much larger presentation format, and audience on Friday.

This year CCAFM has been very impressed with the students’ work so is using this as an opportunity to expand existing client relationships or pitch to new ones. It continues to be a wonderful resume builder for our BC grad students, as well.

Check out two short videos of the students presenting below, followed by some of today’s pictures.

More updates to come throughout the week.

This is the 12th year of a program where BC grad students work with a Beijing based strategy consulting firm to assist its clients. The students complete 6 months of research before coming to Beijing to present their recommendations, personally.
