BC ICP students impress with final presentations
BC ICP students impress with final presentations. Final presentations well attended by several at CCAFM, including the CEO and its GM. Nearly standing room only for the afternoon presentations. I loved seeing the executives interrupting the students on-the-fly and almost (metaphorically) stepping over one another to get their questions asked. The project leads did a great job in the translation, too.
Each team roughly presented 3 case studies, with their slides and speaker’s notes bi-lingually translated. Obviously the Q&A was unscripted but that’s always the most interesting / enjoyable part, anyway.
The teams did a nice job including each of their seven members, too, even if only 3 cases were covered in during the two 2-hour presentations. One of the clients who came Wednesday is a professional calligrapher, and found time to write out individual sayings for each of the 14 students. I was also touched by the gifts each student team went out, on their own volition, and purchased, and subsequently presented to the 2 project leads.
It was a wonderful way to wrap up six months of hard work, not to mention a productive, and enjoyable, week in Beijing. One student reflection is below, followed by videos at the end.
Tonight is our Closing Banquet, hosted by the CCAFM’s GM, and tomorrow is sightseeing. On-the-docket is the Great Wall, Forbidden City and an Acrobat Show.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to come to Beijing and spend time at CCAFM. The experience has been invaluable. We were able to exercise our cross cultural business skills that until now we had only read about in textbooks and discussed in class. Everyone at CCAFM has been extremely welcoming. The [project leads]have provided excellent guidance both on our projects and navigating Beijing. Thank you for an exceptional trip. We hope you have an opportunity to come to Boston some day.
