Global Management Experience Day #3: Beijing Company Visits

We covered a lot of ground geographically as well as industry-wide. Our morning began with a visit to Beijing United Hospital where we discussed / debated the state of private healthcare in China. We were all so excited, including our speaker, that we went over by 30 minutes, causing us to push back lunch and run late for our afternoon meeting. The bus clipped a low hanging wire and nearly took down an entire telephone pole but quick thinking by the driver saved everything! The afternoon visit was to COSL, a division of state oil conglomerate CNOOC. We finished the day with a visit set up by one of our BU alumni, at Pfizer China. We were all impressed by each speaker’s honesty, sincerity and strategic thinking. Two more tomorrow and then a BU alumni event to wrap-up Beijing!
