LOB Filming: 48in48
A huge thanks to Joe Koufman for coordinating today’s on location shoot in Boston for 48in48. This is a very cool concept where, according to its web site, they’re trying to build 48 websites for 48 nonprofits in 48 hours. At a 48in48 event, they deliver over $1,200,000 of value to 48 nonprofits in the form of 48 websites, a few logos, and other marketing collateral to help nonprofits grow.
Joe recruited one of the co-founders / sponsors, Adam Walker, 48in48 Executive Director Carole Williams, and United Way Senior Vice President for Community Impact, Karley Ausiello, for the interviews. Joe himself will be interviewed in studio tomorrow as we wrap up the filming for this episode. Tomorrow we’ll also film on Networking. Joe, Carole & Adam flew in from Atlanta today to recruit Boston volunteers for 48in48; Boston is one of only 4 expansion cities, to date, in the US.

United Way’s mission in Massachusetts:
OUR MISSION
We unite to create positive, lasting change for people in need. We call it harnessing the power of people working together. And that means everyone – individuals, nonprofits, companies, and government agencies.
We work every day to achieve our vision and mission by focusing on two foundations of better lives: Financial Opportunity and Educational Success. Specifically:
Financial Opportunity: Ensuring that all families have safe housing, healthy food and quality childcare. That they have jobs that allow them to support themselves and their families. And that they have access to financial tools and coaching to help build a better future.
Educational Success: Preparing children to enter school ready to learn, develop critical social and academic skills, and get the support they need to stay in school and graduate.
