GME Day #2 in Bangkok

We had a wonderful 2nd day in Bangkok! We dodged monsoon puddles this morning and made it on time to one of the local 5-star hotel chains which has significant international aspirations. Not only are they looking to rapidly expand the number of hotels under management but also to diversify their business portfolio into food and other non-hotel services. The Quality Assurance manager gave us a very detailed briefing on company history, current and future business lines, followed by a personal Q&A session with the CEO. The CEO was then nice enough to cater an elegant 3 course lunch and eat alongside the students. Best Thai food I’ve personally experienced.

We made it to a Japanese – Thai joint venture on the outskirts of Bangkok with 10 minutes to spare. The Japanese CEO gave a welcome briefing followed by a detail facilities tour by the Thai sales and operations team. We returned to the conference room for strategy Q&A. Even with the legendary Bangkok traffic we made it back on time.

Company briefings are now complete! A free night tonight and sightseeing to the Royal Palace tomorrow. The students are so great this year– all 19 of us are having dinner together. Check out the pictures.
