LOB Filming: Business of Sports

We were on location at the Boston Convention and Exhibition Center discussing the business of sports as the MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference was going through its final set-up. Many thanks to Laila Zemrani, Founder and CEO of Fitnescity, Jonathan Day, CEO and Founder of Uncaged Sports, Quinton Porter, VP of North America for Pico, and Jason Rehhaut, one of the co-leads for the entire MIT Sloan Sports Analytics conference.

Fitnescity: We are a mission-driven technology company with big dreams of empowering people to optimize their performance and overall fitness. We offer lab-based assessments that help people uncover data that’s vital to understanding their fitness, performance and nutrition.

Uncaged Sports: That’s why we focus on making the most advanced training software that tracks player progression, improves performance and makes practice fun again. Using the latest AI-based technology, Uncaged Sports creates seamless, easy-to-use and sport-specific training apps that don’t require sensors – because sensors aren’t fun. All you need is a smartphone – we’ll do the rest.

Pico: Pico was founded in 2014 to help brands communicate more easily and effectively with their audiences. With offices and clients in Israel, the United States and Europe, Pico is trusted by leading sports teams, music venues and brands around the world.

MIT Sports Analytics Conference: The conference goal is to provide a forum for industry professionals (executives and leading researchers) and students to discuss the increasing role of analytics in the global sports industry. MIT Sloan is dedicated to fostering growth and innovation in this arena, and the conference enriches opportunities for learning about the sports business world. The conference is open to anyone interested in sports. Founded by Daryl Morey (MIT Sloan ’00) and Jessica Gelman (HBS ’02) in 2006, the Conference is chaired by Gelman and organized by MIT Sloan students.
