Fly in from China… just to speak with BC MBAs

Many thanks to Tom McCarthy, the CEO, Chairman and GM of Beijing International Group (BIG) in Beijing, China. He flew in from China, where he’s based, on a quick trip back to his hometown of Boston. An extremely busy executive, he nonetheless made time to come to BC to speak with my class, writing: “coming to your class is one of my more important stops this time around.”  Not only did he come fully prepared, but he also brought with him individual, hand-written thank-you notes for *each* of the students. Impressive and one of the best guest speakers of the entire semester. Suffice it to say that you made a “BIG” impression on the MBAs. Thank you, Tom!

Beijing International Group (BIG) specializes in sports development with a strong focus on tennis and golf. BIG is in a partnership with the China Tennis Association (CTA) and has exclusive rights to the China National Tennis Team. BIG commercially manages the China Grand Prix Mercedes-Benz Cup, Fed Cup, and Davis Cup as well as the ITF TCL Men’s Tour. It also operates www.chinatennis.org.cn, the #1 tennis website in China. Additionally, BIG founded the top junior sports development program in China, “Swing For The Stars”.
