Language of Business Episode #9: Becoming an Immigrant Business Success

Moving to another country to study or work is one thing, but how about if you officially emigrate and end up becoming an Entrepreneur? What does true success look like and what lessons can be passed on to future immigrants? We first talk with David Shimoni, originally from Israel, and whose latest venture (Denovo) is 50 people strong and growing. Next we visit with Kari Wu, who after receiving her Questrom School of Business, Boston UniversityMBA eschewed the traditional consulting route to immediately start her own venture (FilmIt), directly building on her studies in business and communication. Does being from a US territory, rather than from the continental United States have any (positive or) negative nuances? Daniel Ramírez-Yunqué, CFA weighs in about Conjure. Finally, think you have what it takes (in any country) to start off in sanitation and food service, successfully gradusate from Nursing School and then become a Professional Development Manager in one of Boston’s top hospitals? Gilberto Gamba, MS, BSN, RN BC‘s story is inspiring to say the least (Brigham and Women’s Hospital). Run time is 23 minutes in Ultra HD format with captions, and thanks to Don Kelley for his audio production work, Randy Barth for video, the Questrom School of Business, Boston University for its support. Of course, an equally huge thanks to our four guests for their time and support. Susan James Leyva, Paul Alexander. (Non YouTube version is here: https://lnkd.in/eqm9xHkp)
